Job Description

 

Service Summary

•  To ensure the streamlined operation of the IT group in alignment with the business objectives of the company.

•  He will plan, coordinate, direct, and design IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT group.

•  Will work with peers and upper management on a daily basis to ensure the proper flow of communication is established and maintained.

 

Main Duties /  Responsibilities /  Goals

·   Identify and resolve problems related to network infrastructure, hardware components, operating systems, and business software and office productivity applications.

·   Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all current IT systems, including Install new servers and configure hardware, Websites, PCs, operating systems, databases telephones, software applications, and peripherals.

·   Manage the implementation and configuration of the IT in the camps and company remote sites.

·   Communicate regularly with executive management and all users of information services and systems.

·   Manage and develop IT staff, including, training, evaluation, guidance, discipline.

·   Continuously monitor and maintain system access and security.

·   Develop standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols and guidance to IT staff and to end-users.

·   Ensure the creation and maintenance of all written documentation, including system and user manuals, license agreements, and documentation of modifications and upgrades.

·   Oversee provision of IT Support for more than 300 staff in more than 3 offices.

·   Keep current with the latest technologies and determine what new technology solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements.

·   Manage financial aspects of the IT Department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review.

·   Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.

·   Negotiate and administer supplier contracts and service agreements

·   Understand company HSE practices, policies and procedures, including the impact of telecom equipment and operations as well as familiarity with Industry Standards.

 

Required Qualification

·   A Bachelor’s degree in computer science.

·   Minimum of 7-10 years technical experience designing, installing and supporting Microsoft Windows Server networks, using AD, Exchange and SQL server applications

·   Previous experience in oil & gas industry;

·   Progressive IT experience, including experience in a multi-office environment. Experience in working with non-profits and/or membership organization’s preferred.

·   Demonstrated ability to lead a team of technical staff, to work with the Executive Management of an organization, and to manage multiple concurrent projects

·   Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·   Strong project management, organizational and time management skills

·   Strong people management skills

·   Excellent problem-solving, analytical and evaluative skills

·   Team Player

·   A strong knowledge in contract negotiation.

·   Fluency in French, English Arabic is a must.

·   Committed and flexible on work location in support of overall project goals.

 

Preferred Skills

·   Databases Administration (SQL Server, Oracle)

·   Using VEEAM

·   Unix Administration  

·   Knowledge of administration of Juniper firewalls (filtering / VPN)

·   Knowledge of administration of cisco equipment (switching)

 

Projects in Progress

 

Architecture Migration

·   Preparation of new IT infrastructure.

·   Implementation of an aggregation solution links

·   Data migration and posts.

·   Implementation of a dual redundant cluster

 

Implementation of new sites:

·   Preparation of infrastructure and easements, acquisition and implementation of equipment and links or coordination with the contractors in charge of the supplies.

 

Moving Preparation:

·   Development of the temporary basis

·   Infrastructure duplication to ensure basic services from GDF Suez BV.

 

MUSIS Project:

·   Implementation of an ERP Oracle Application declined from a strain being developed by Sonatrach

·   Migration of data currently present in the SAP platform of GDF Suez

 

Additional Project Information

Project::                 Touat Gas Field, NE of Adrar, Algeria

Rotation:                 Permanent position until August 2015 (10 working days, 4 days off) and 4x4 rotation

                              starting August

Daily rate:               TBA by each candidate. We need quotation for worked days only, days off are not paid!

Start date:               ASAP

Requirements:         7 to 10 years experience in a similar role
